A Masterclass with Brian Jacks 8th Dan
Drake Judo Club is delighted to announce that Brian Jacks 8th Dan will be visiting Plymouth on Wednesday the 6th of September and coaching a masterclass session for the Drake seniors and juniors and guests from other clubs, The sessions will be held at the LifeCentre and be as follows
Juniors - 6pm - 7.30pm
Seniors - 7.30pm - 9pm
There will be plenty of time for photographs and autographs, also Brian will be signing copies of his brand new autobiography which will not be available to buy anywhere else until next year
Brian is one of the few Judo players that has managed to achieve national recognition after his spectacular exploits in the TV series 'Superstars' the format of the show was to bring together all of the top sports people in the UK and have them battle off against each other to see who was the best
Brian won the title on 4 occasions beating the pre-show favourite Double Olympic winning decathlete Daley Thompson! Brian also set a now famous world record for horizontal dips.
In pure judo terms Judo Brian is one of our most successful competitors ever and was the first British Player to medal at the world championships and one of our earliest Olympic medal winners, taking bronze in 1972
he is also a two time European champion, a former Head Coach of the Budokwai and former Team GB Head coach during which time this country had one of it most successful periods,
Brian is famous for his larger than life personality and mental toughness
