Drake Judo Club awarded almost £10,000 in Sport England Funding!
After a long 12 months of work, I am delighted to announce that DJC has been awarded £9,458 to help in our development, specifically in the area of youth Judo by Sport England
Sport England attributes funding on behalf of the National Lottery to worthy causes
DJC's funds will be allocated to the following:
We will purchase a brand new full competition sized mat area which will be based at our Tavistock Dojo.
We will also purchase three grappling dummies, for those of you who haven't seen these before they are designed to replicate the weight and size of an opposing player and can be used to refine technique
We will also purchase 40 Drake Judo Uniforms which will be put to good use by our new members
Id like to thank the various individuals who helped with this application, from those who first help with the concept of the idea to those who went out on the ground and got the research needed. A huge thanks to DJC Treasurer and Co-Founder Charles Knape for his time and effort in helping us achieve this
This year has indeed been an exciting one thus far and our club continues to go from strength to strength
We now look forward to our first session using our new mats!
